It was part of a suite often just known as Adaptec Easy CD Creator, which has a:

• A program to copy a CD.

• A program to write new CD Directly.

• CD Spin Doctor program for recording analog audio sources to CD.

Easy CD Creator versions 3 and 4 are supported by Microsoft Windows operating system up to Windows 2000 operating system, but not Windows XP. By later on a new version was created as Version 5 which did support Windows XP after the 5.1 patch was updated. By version 6, CD Creator was now named "Easy CD & DVD Creator" which had a new burning service, code named "Dragon" which helped in  CD Copier portion of the software suite.

The latest version of Easy Media Creator is called CD Creator 2010.
